Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2018 FLASHA Annual Convention.

This year, convention will be held on July 26-29, 2018, at the Naples Grande Beach Resort.

This year's event will be bigger and better than ever, and we need your help to fill in our session schedule. We are looking for a wide variety of session topics appealing to Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Students, and General Audiences, covering all practice areas and are groups.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: January 31, 2018

Session Format

All sessions during the FLASHA Annual Convention are for the purpose of professional education. Members of FLASHA are invited to share innovative clinical techniques or research findings during the Annual Convention.

Submission Process

The recommended abstract length is between 50 to 200 words. Abstract titles should be short (10 word max), but descriptive. Catchy titles, indicating benefits to the audience while incorporating this year’s theme “FLASHA Beach Bash!” are encouraged.

Abstracts and narrative summaries will be reviewed for clarity, goals and learner outcomes, scientific rationale and level of anticipated interest.

The primary/submitting author will receive an email message confirming the receipt of the abstract.  Please notify your co-authors that the confirmation was received.

Review Process:
  • All abstracts must be submitted by January 31, 2018 for consideration as a seminar presentation.
  • All submittals are reviewed by the Convention Review Committee. Abstracts are approved for inclusion in the convention program by the Vice President for Convention and the Vice President for Continuing Education upon recommendation by the review committee.
  • Proposals submitted to FLASHA may not be a  forum for the promotion of commercial products. Any proprietary interest in the material presented must be indicated on this application in the abstract. If the proposal is accepted for presentation, the author will be required to disclose the proprietary information to the audience.
  • Notification regarding the results of the peer review process will be sent to the Primary/Submitting Author by March 5, 2018, for papers and posters.
  • Authors/speakers accepted for seminar presentation are requested to please email handouts/slides to FLASHA Headquarters at flasha@paradigmamc.com (Note this is not a requirement but a request from the attendees.)
  • All authors are required to complete the disclosure section upon acceptance to present. If the author/speaker is to be listed in the final program they MUST complete a disclosure form by March 31, 2018.

Presentations will be scheduled throughout the 2017 Convention. Please do not submit a proposal unless you are able to present ON ANY DAY of the Convention. Presenters must register for the Convention.

Complete instruction for speakers and poster presenters will be provided upon notification of a paper’s acceptance.

All questions should be directed to Timothy Kowalski, MS, CCC-SLP, VP for Convention at mrtim@socialpragmatics.com, or William Campbell, Ph.D., Executive Director at william@paradigmamc.com.

We are accepting proposals for presentations to fill a variety of time slots across our entire schedule. One and two hour sessions are available on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We are also accepting poster submissions, and for the first time, we are creating a short-form showcase theater where presenters will have the opportunity to provide a 20-minute TED Talk style session.
